RxRelief Cancellation Policy
Effective date: August 19, 2026
RxRelief is a marketplace platform operated by RML Pharma Inc. connecting pharmacists and pharmacy professionals with pharmacies in British Columbia. RxRelief is not a staffing agency, employer, or party to any agreement between a pharmacy and a pharmacist. Any dispute arising from a cancellation is solely between the pharmacy and the pharmacist. RxRelief will not act as intermediary in disputes.
For pharmacists
Replacement coverage
A pharmacist who cannot attend a shift may request replacement coverage through RxRelief. Submitting a replacement request does not cancel the shift. The original pharmacist remains responsible until a confirmed replacement is found and accepted. If replacement is confirmed the original pharmacist is released with no penalty. If no replacement is confirmed the original pharmacist must attend or face applicable penalties. Penalty timing is based on when the cancellation or no-show occurs, not when the replacement request was submitted.
No penalty cancellations
No penalty applies when: the shift is cancelled within 60 minutes of acceptance, the cancellation occurs more than 14 calendar days before the shift, or both parties mutually agree to cancel.
Late cancellations — 5 to 14 days before shift
First offence: reliability warning added to profile, visible to employers. Second offence within 6 months: account review and temporary restriction from applying to new shifts.
Late cancellations — 4 days or less before shift
First offence: $150 cancellation fee plus reliability flag on profile. Second offence within 6 months: $300 cancellation fee plus 30-day suspension from platform. Third offence: permanent account review and possible removal.
No-shows and unauthorized departures
A pharmacist who fails to attend, leaves without authorization, or arrives 60 minutes or more after the scheduled start time is deemed a No-Show. A No-Show is treated as a same-day cancellation and results in: $450 cancellation fee, immediate reliability flag, account review, and possible suspension or permanent removal.
Exceptions — no penalty applies if
Serious illness, medical emergency, injury, death in immediate family, or documented emergency; the pharmacy materially violates RxRelief terms; the cancellation is mutually agreed; or RxRelief determines exceptional circumstances apply at its sole discretion. RxRelief may request supporting documentation including medical records, official documents, or written correspondence.
